Overview
Early trauma can have a significant impact on the development of the nervous system, which can then have lasting effects on sensory processing and attachments.
This course will allow participants to begin to consider the neurological underpinnings behind certain behavioural patterns commonly seen as a consequence of developmental trauma and therefore understand how simple sensory strategies can aid in the regulation of the nervous system.
Objectives
Aims of the course:
Who should attend this live online training day?
This course is aimed at those new to SI, trauma and / or attachment and is suitable for anyone who wants to gain a greater understanding of how trauma can impact a child’s sensory processing, behaviour, regulation, ability to learn etc.
It is an introductory course and aims to bring all three areas of trauma, attachment and SI together. No prior knowledge is required, however, for those with some prior knowledge of trauma or attachment or SI but not in all three areas, it would be of interest. It would not be suitable for someone who has knowledge in all three areas.
The course is aimed at parents, foster carers, teachers, therapists, social workers and others working with children / young adults.
