Sensory Integration Education Terms and Conditions

Sensory Integration Education maintains this website, any courses offered and other linked and related sites (the “Site”) for the use of its customers, vendors, students, and other Site users (“Users”) upon agreement to the following terms. Please read the terms carefully before using the Site. Use of this website indicates acceptance of these “Terms of Use” and forms a binding agreement between you and Sensory Integration Education. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use this Site.‍

1. Use of Site

1.1 Sensory Integration Education provides various materials, information, quizzes, tests, questions, articles, news and other information on this and related sites and in courses offered through this site (the “Materials”).

1.2 Sensory Integration Education authorises each User to view and download one copy of the Materials. Materials may be downloaded and a maximum of one copy of the Materials may be printed provided that Users make no modifications to the Materials and you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices contained in the original Materials on any copies of the Materials.

1.3 Users may not modify the Materials at this Site in any way or reproduce, share or distribute them. Users will keep all Materials confidential, and will not sell, auction, loan, rent, give away, describe, summarize, or otherwise reveal the Materials or their contents, to any other person or entity.

1.4 Users found to be sharing logins will be unenrolled from any courses and their accounts deleted. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions automatically terminates your authorised use of the Site.

2. Online Course Application / Purchase

SI Module Courses

2.1 SI Module courses must be applied for in the name of the Participant through the online application forms on the Sensory Integration Education website (www.sensoryintegrationeducation.com) using an email address that is unique to them.

2.2 It is the Participant’s responsibility to check that they are eligible to complete the course. Some courses require qualifications and experience. If you do not meet the minimum requirements, your place may be withdrawn at any time.

2.3 By applying for a Course, Participants are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2.4 After completing an application form for a Module Course and within a few days, you will receive an email from Sensory Integration Education acknowledging that we have received and accepted your application. (Please check your spam folder for the email.)

2.5 Payment of fees by a person or organisation other than the Participant does not constitute a contract for the provision of a Course between such person or organisation and Sensory Integration Education. The contract is between the Participant and Sensory Integration Education.

2.6 Participants taking our accredited SI MSc Pathway courses will be bound by our partner University Cheating and Plagiarism Policy and other relevant policies upon registering with the University.

Short Courses

2.7 Upon registering for a short online course, the user will have immediate access to start the course.

2.8 The user's timed access to the course will start immediately after payment and will NOT be extended. If the user requires more time to complete the course, they must purchase the course again.

3. Fees and Payment

Short Courses Paid online

3.1 For immediate access to the course, payment can be made on the website using credit or debit cards.

SI Module Courses / Short courses (by arrangement only)

3.2 Sensory Integration Education will send an email invoice, to the address specified on the application form, within three working days.

3.3 It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that the Sensory Integration Education’s fees in respect of the Course (as stated on the website and in other course publicity) and all other fees and expenses relating to the Course are paid by the deadline notified or paid through an agreed payment plan.

3.4 All payments must be made in GB Pounds Sterling, Euros, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar or US Dollar. Any currency conversion costs or other charges incurred in making the payment or in processing a refund shall be borne by the Participant or the third party making payment, and shall not be deductible from the Fees due to Sensory Integration Education. Please use the www.xe.com currency conversion rate on the day of payment.

3.5 We require full payment of fees within 30 days of the date of the invoice. If the booking is made within 30 days of the start of the course, payment is required immediately. If paying by Instalment Plan (see below) the first instalment is required to be paid within 30 days of booking.

3.6 If your employer is paying the invoice and uses purchase order numbers, please enter the PO number and correct invoice address when booking. We support the NHS 'No Purchase Order, No Payment Policy' policy. Failure to provide the PO number when required may cause a delay in payment and your booking may be cancelled. 3.7 Sensory Integration Education is not VAT registered.

3.8 We are unable to take payments over the phone.

4. Cancellations, Transfers and Refunds for Courses

4.1 Cooling-off period

4.1.1 You have the right to cancel any contract for the provision of a place on a Course at any time within seven working days, beginning on the day after you have received the acknowledgement email. You will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Course, save as follows: there is no right to cancellation where the Course begins within seven days beginning on the day after we sent the acknowledgement.

Cancellation of Courses

4.2 Cancellation by us

4.2.1 We will make all reasonable efforts to deliver the Course as outlined on the website.

However, we reserve the right to: make reasonable adjustments to the timetable, location or presenters specified for a Course; and make reasonable amendments to the content and syllabus of a Course when necessary.

4.2.2 We reserve the right to cancel any Course by giving you notice in writing at any time before the Course is due to start. We will refund all fees paid by you and will endeavour to offer a transfer to another Course as an alternative, subject to payment or refund of any difference in the purchase price.

4.2.3 Sensory Integration Education’s maximum liability will be limited to a refund of received fees for the cancelled Course.

For partial cancellation of a Course, such refunds will be made on a pro-rata basis. Sensory Integration Education will not accept liability for any costs or losses incurred by Participants or organisations which are claimed to have arisen through Course cancellation, other than for those stated here.

4.3 Cancellation by you for an Online course

4.3.1 To cancel a place on a course, or to transfer to another course, please write to [email protected] explaining your reason for requesting the cancellation and details of the course you are cancelling off.

4.3.2 Cancellation charges for online courses depend on when we receive your written/emailed cancellation notice:

For confirmed bookings cancelled before the course start date, we will refund 100% of course fees.

For confirmed bookings cancelled after the course start date, no refund will be made. If the invoice is unpaid at the time of cancellation, you will still be liable for 100% of the course fee.

Transfers

4.4 Transfer of Online course booking to another course

4.4.1 You may transfer your booking to another course if your circumstances change, subject to the following rules:

For online SI MSc Pathway course transfer requests received after the course start date, we will transfer the booking subject to approval by Sheffield Hallam University in line with their Extenuating Circumstances Policy.

For other online course transfer requests received after the course start date, there is no transfer option.

4.2 If the new course fee is higher, you will be required to pay the difference.

4.3 Credit notes are valid for 6 months.

5. Visual and/or Audio recordings

5.1 The organisers may take visual and/or audio recordings of Participants during webinar-based Courses and we reserve the right to use these for promotional, management or educative purposes (in the United Kingdom or overseas).

Participants’ individual consent for this will be assumed to have been granted unless otherwise indicated by Participants, in writing or by email, prior to the start of the Course.

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1 Whilst we take all reasonable care and skill when producing course content, Sensory Integration Education is unable to guarantee and makes no representation or warranty that information and materials contained on or available via this website shall continue to be accurate or that they will be suitable for the Participant’s particular needs.

To the extent permitted by law, all such representations and warranties whether expressed or implied are excluded.

6.2 Participants confirm that they will not rely on any such information and acknowledge that they must seek specialist and professional advice before taking any action relating to sensory integration therapy.

6.3 Sensory Integration Education may make improvements or alterations to the courses and information provided on or via this website from time to time.

6.4 Sensory Integration Education is unable to guarantee that the use of online courses will deliver any specific outcome for the Participants.

6.5 We accept no liability for any loss or damage howsoever arising, whether direct or indirect, special or consequential, which may be suffered by any person in accessing, downloading, using or relying on any information or course materials contained in this website.

6.6 Sensory Integration Education’s liability in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise in relation to these terms and conditions is limited to the total fee you have paid for the course materials.

However, nothing in these terms and conditions shall restrict or exclude our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or liability which we are otherwise not permitted by law to exclude or restrict.

7. Viruses, etc.

7.1 Sensory Integration Education exercises all reasonable skill and care to ensure that the online course content is free from viruses and other malware.

The SI Network does not guarantee that:

7.1.1 use of this website to access or download course content will be compatible with all hardware and software;

7.1.2 use of this website to view or access online course content will be uninterrupted or error or virus-free; or that

7.1.3 defects will be corrected (save for those defects which Sensory Integration Education is obliged to correct by law); and it is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that it has in place suitable firewalls and cyber-security measures to minimise or remove the risk from viruses, malware and the like.

7.2 To the extent permitted by law, Sensory Integration Education does not accept any liability (whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise) for any external compromises of security and/or of confidentiality in relation to transmissions sent by email.

8. Data Protection

8.1 Your personal information will be held and used in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

8.2 You can see our full privacy policy on our website.

8.3 It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that they have the necessary consent from their patients or clients before sharing any information within the group. Patient or client personal details must not be identifiable.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 The copyright and all other intellectual property rights (including but not limited to database rights, trademarks, design rights and domain names in all cases whether registered or not) in all Sensory Integration Education’s materials (including without limitation, designs, texts, pictures, graphics, logos, images and the selection and arrangement of them) and all course materials belong to us or our licensors (whether marked as such or not). All rights are reserved.

9.2 Whilst you may print extracts or download them from the website for your personal use you may not otherwise download, copy, reproduce, translate, redistribute, republish, transmit, adapt, alter, create derivative works from or otherwise extract or reutilise any material contained on or available via the website for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

10. Disability

10.1 Sensory Integration Education is committed to providing a website, training courses and events that are accessible to the widest possible audience. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our services. Upon booking a Module course, students are asked whether they have any Disability. This information is shared with the University partner.

10.2 Sheffield Hallam University, our accrediting partner for the SI MSc Pathway courses, provides dedicated student support services for those who require them.

10.3 Our online courses include slides and animations with audio descriptions as well as downloadable transcripts.

11. Variations to the Terms and Conditions

11.1 Sensory Integration Education reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time and the current version will be published on this website.

12. Choice of Law

12.1 These terms and conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

Each party agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these terms and conditions in your country of residence or in any other relevant country).
