"My child is calmer, happier, more focused and is integrating with others more. Everything has changed for him, at home, in school and with friends. he has a whole new perspective on himself and the world and for the first time we feel really hopeful about his future." - Parent of child receiving SI therapy
"Understand that everyone's behaviors are on the same continuum of responses, it is easier to see we are more like each other than different from each other." - Winnie Dunn
"Out son is giving eye contact! No one told him to, it just started happening during the sensory integration therapy he had. He communicates so much better now. I don't know how it worked but it did." - Parent of child receiving SI therapy
"Learning and behavior are the physical aspects of sensory integration."- Dr Jean Ayres
"Now I know how to stop myself melting down so quickly so I feel more in control. I have more friends now too and my teachers have better ways to help me in class." - School age child receiving SI therapy
"When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower." - Alexander Den Heijer
"My brother had SI therapy. When he pushes the trolley in the supermarket or carries the bags, Mum can take us shopping now and I really like shopping. I think I can help him better now too. I know when he needs space and when he needs my fluffy pillow. So I fee more helpful and less scared when he gets upset." - Sibling of a child receiving SI therapy
"The sense, being explorers of the world, open the way to knowledge. Our apparatus for educating the senses offers the child a key to guide his explorations of the world." - Dr Maria Montessori
"There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do." - Temple Grandin
"Attending Sensory Integration Therapy turns a bad day into a good day." - School age child receiving SI therapy
"The brain locates, sorts and orders sensations - somewhat as a traffic officer directs moving cars...When the flow of sensations is disorganized, life can be like a rush hour traffic jam." - Dr Jean Ayres
"Play is often talked about as if were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." - Fred Rogers
