Since our last issue of SensorNet, we’ve run some very well-received and fascinating live CPD webinars. It’s our privilege and our pleasure to be working with such insightful professionals from across the globe to share sensory learning and strategies with you. 

Here’s a few of the online events that it’s been our honour to host:

Dr Teresa A. May-Benson, Sc.D., OTR/L, FAOTA,world-renowned lecturer and researcher on SI, and author of the Adult/Adolescent Sensory History (ASH), the Gravitational Insecurity (GI) Assessment and the Test of Ideational Praxis, gave a live webinar on:

Dr Varleisha Gibbs PhD, OTD, OTR/L, ASDCS, Vice President of Practice Engagement and Capacity Building at AOTA, presented on:

Dr Sarah Schoen, PhD, OTR/L, Director of Research at the STAR Institute, discussed:

Prof Erna Imperatore Blanche, PhD, OTR/L, Dr Gustavo Reinoso, PhD, OTR/L, and Dominique Blanche Kiefer, OTD, OTR/L gave an introduction to the SI test that they created:

  • The SOSI-M and COP-R: Theory, Administration and Scoring

Dr Douglene Jackson, PhD, OTR/L, LMT, ATP, BCTS, FAOTA presented on:

  • An Introduction to Using the Sensory Processing Measure 2 (SPM-2) and Quick Tips in Clinical Practice

Joanna Grace, Sensory Engagement and Inclusion Specialist, Author, Trainer and Speaker, spoke empathetically on:

  • Sensory Engagement for Mental Wellbeing
  • Discovering Sensory Stories

Rachael Thompson, OT, PGCE with QTS, SI Practitioner and Head of Therapy at a school specialising in supporting autistic individuals drew on her professional experience and lived experience as an autisitc individual in her webinar:

  • Sensory Processing, Autism and Identity

Meg Faure, OT and author of parenting books including Baby Sense, Sleep Sense, Feeding Sense and Weaning Sense, discussed:

  • Technology and Tots
  • High needs children: Colic, Cranky babies and Toddler Tantrums

Kath Megaw, Clinical Paediatric Dietitian (with a special interest in special needs and epilepsy) hosted an insightful webinar on:

Laura Osman, Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Advanced SI Practitioner, Feeding Therapist and Teacher, and Louisa Hargett, Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, Advanced SI Practitioner, Feeding Therapist and Teacher delivered a fascinating training session on:

  • Developing Mealtime Routines and Strategies to Increase Food Acceptance

Anne Laure Jackson, OT, Advanced SI Practitioner, and home educator, discussed her professional and personal experiences of:
