Join the SP3D Data Collection Initiative: Contribute to the Future of Sensory Processing Assessment!

Are you an experienced SI Practitioner, interested in participating in the development of an assessment?

Are you interested in enhancing your professional development knowledge and skills whilst receiving competitive remuneration?

Here's an opportunity to contribute to an innovative project: the standardisation and validation of the Sensory Processing 3 Dimensions (SP3D) assessment.

What is SP3D?

SP3D has been designed by occupational therapists for therapists and aims to provide a scientifically robust and clinically relevant assessment for sensory processing in individuals aged 3 years through adulthood.

Here's what's in it for you:

Competitive Remuneration: As a Data Collector, you'll receive payment for each case you work on, and the client will also be renumerated. Your contract will be with Western Psychological Services (WPS) who are publishing the assessment.

Support and Training: Gain firsthand knowledge of SP3D under the guidance of the authors, Dr Sarah Schoen or Dr Shelley Mulligan before embarking on data collection. They will offer a minimum of 10 hours of training, ensuring you're well-prepared for the task at hand.

Contribute to Science and Practice: This is more than just a project; it's a chance to contribute to the clinical and scientific community and make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with sensory processing differences.

Your Role:

As a Data Collector, you'll embark on a structured journey to gather essential data. This involves administering the SP3D assessment to selected participants, focusing on reliability and validity studies. Your commitment will include testing 10 cases, potentially over multiple sessions, to ensure comprehensive data collection.

Who Can Participate?

We're looking for professionals in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales who are:

·        Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists Trained in Sensory Integration Education SI Practitioner level (PG Cert) or equivalent.

·        Registered with HCPC and hold professional indemnity insurance.

·        Have DBS clearance and a First Aid certificate, issued within the last 12 months.

The study welcomes child and adult participants aged 5 and onwards, with diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Disorders and more, provided they meet our inclusion criteria.

Participants that are seen by the Data Collector in non-NHS settings, such as private clinics, schools, or day centres and so on, can only be included in the study.

Make a Difference:

This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to be at the forefront of sensory processing research and practice. Your expertise can help shape an assessment tool that will benefit countless individuals and professionals in the field.

If you're based in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales and are ready to make an impact, we'd love to hear from you. Take the first step by completing our application form and joining a community of professionals dedicated to advancing sensory processing assessment.
