MSc Advancing Practice Sensory Integration
SIE has a new title for its pioneering MSc award in Sensory Integration: the new title is MSc Advancing Practice Sensory Integration, accredited by Sheffield Hallam University. This new title better reflects the core capabilities delivered by this qualification and required by the modern healthcare professions.
This title emphasises that holders of an MSc Advancing Practice Sensory Integration are qualified to advanced practice level and will be able to evidence the underpinning competencies, skills and behaviours applicable to the specialty or health and care setting and job role they are working within.
Rosalind Rogers, SIE Chair said:
“Over a decade ago we welcomed our first MSc students with our then higher education partner Ulster University. We developed the world’s first Master’s degree in Sensory Integration which was also the first SI postgraduate training course to be validated by a UK university. With our new partner Sheffield Hallam University, one of the largest allied health professions education providers in the UK, we have evolved the Master’s programme to meet the needs of the NHS, employers, therapists and clients. This new title reflects this progression.”
The preceding constituent qualifications on the SIE pathway to qualify as an SI Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner remain respectively: PGCert in Sensory Integration and PGDip in Sensory Integration.
