If you've been contemplating your journey to advanced practitionership, take inspiration from this accomplished cohort and consider starting your own path in 2024.

Becoming an Advanced Practitioner in Sensory Integration

Becoming an Advanced Practitioner in Sensory Integration goes beyond learning more about SI. It involves transforming your professional life by improving your clinical skills in your specific setting, using research in your daily work, and gaining the confidence to bring positive changes to your service. The combination of these skills makes you an Advanced Practitioner.

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to critically reflect on the experience of living with sensory processing and integration difficulties. This reflection aims to develop and enhance the quality of practice and service delivery for individuals with sensory integration difficulties. You will also acquire the skill to communicate complex and relevant material effectively and appropriately to various audiences within your identified clinical field or area of professional practice.

Furthermore, as an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner, you will be able to reflect on how to advocate for positive change within the scope of your practice. The module involves 20 hours of clinical practice, supported by a clinical mentor. Finally, and critically, you will be able to demonstrate a systematic understanding of the breadth of Ayres Sensory Integration®, relating to the underpinning knowledge. This includes a critical awareness of current problems and/or new insights informed by research at the forefront of your identified clinical field or area of professional practice.
