What is the Bridging Module?

The Bridging Module is a short top-up module for students who completed the previous 30-credit Module 1. It enables you to bring your learning to 40 credits, aligning with the new Module A (40 credits) so you can progress directly into Module B.

Who is it for?

This module is for you if you:

  • have completed the original 30-credit SI Module 1, and

  • plan to join Module B under the new pathway structure.

Why is it needed?

Following programme revalidation, the credit structure changed from three modules (30 / 20 / 40 credits) to two modules:

  • Module A (40 credits)

  • Module B (40 credits)

The Bridging Module ensures your credits and learning match students who completed Module A, so you can move forward into Module B.

Learning commitment

  • Approximately 15–20 hours of online learning content

  • Followed by a mandatory Multiple Choice Questions assessment

You will also have access to the full Module A learning materials in addition to the Bridging content.

Assessment

  • Assessment type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

  • Based on: Bridging Module content

  • Required for progression into Module B

Key dates and deadlines

  • Enrolment deadline: 2 months before your Module B start date

  • Assessment deadline: 1 month before your Module B start date

These deadlines are important to ensure your Bridging Module credits can be confirmed in time for your Module B enrolment to be processed.

How long will I have access to the course?

  • You will have access to the course for 4 months, but you must successfully complete the assessment at at least 1 month prior to your Module B start date.

Cost

  • £500

An interest-free Payment Plan is available for self funders: 2 x £250.

Break in Studies students: There is no additional cost for students completing the Bridging Module as part of a formal return from a Break in Studies, where Module 2 has already been paid for (and is no longer an option).
