Join us at the Occupational Therapy Show on 25–26 November at the NEC Birmingham to discover more about sensory integration, explore professional development opportunities and hear inspiring insights into the impact of sensory integration on occupational therapy practice.
We're delighted to be exhibiting at this year's Occupational Therapy Show, and the SIE team will be there across both days. We'd love you to come along, visit us on stand G10 and say hello!
Whether you're interested in developing your knowledge and skills in sensory integration, exploring our education and training programmes, finding out more about opportunities for professional development or simply having a chat with like-minded professionals, we'd be delighted to meet you.
Discover the impact of sensory integration in practice
We're also excited that Beth Smithson, SIE's Director of Lifelong Learning, will be taking to the Showcase Theatre stage on both days of the Show to deliver a special presentation: Sensory integration in practice: impact, insights and reflections
This year, we wanted to do something a little different by celebrating the professional journeys of occupational therapists who have embraced sensory integration as a framework for their practice.
We've had the privilege of interviewing six inspirational occupational therapists: Dr Sarah Schoen, Dr Mim Ochsenbein, Dr Lisa Potter, Leanne Duggan, Rebecca Matson and Anna Willis. Each has made a significant contribution to their respective clinical fields and we're delighted to be sharing their experiences, perspectives and reflections.
Spanning research, children's and adults' services, and mental health, these conversations explore how sensory integration has influenced their professional journeys, shaped their clinical reasoning and transformed the way they understand and support the people they work with.
During her presentation, Beth will bring together the key themes and insights emerging from these interviews, exploring the influence sensory integration can have on our professional development and the way we practise occupational therapy.
Above all, this session is a celebration of the breadth and diversity of sensory integration practice, the contributions of these remarkable occupational therapists and the lasting value of continuing to develop our knowledge and understanding throughout our professional lives.
The full interviews will also be available on the Sensory Integration Education website, offering a further opportunity to hear directly from each practitioner and discover more about their experiences, insights and professional journeys.
Join Beth in the Showcase Theatre
Beth will be delivering her presentation at the following times:
● Wednesday 25 November: 12.40–1.10pm
● Thursday 26 November: 12.10–12.40pm
We hope you'll be able to join us for what promises to be an inspiring celebration of sensory integration in practice.
